Here are some features of
, for more information please email me.
EDL is a development environment for commercially oriented systems aimed at users of Oracle's SQL*Forms,
the programming aspects of Microsoft's Access and similar. It's features are too numerous for this blurb,
but some of them are...
- Form/Widget navigator and designer, as well as a widget property editor/maintainer.
- For form events and triggers - multi language style coding that include C, pSQL, Basic and COBOL..
The ability to embed one style in another using XML type tags is provided thus, for instance, making it easy to
place SQL statements in some C or Basic code.
- Is open platform: can run on MS-Windows and Linux. Also can be distributive resource - with some modules
of the system running on one platform and others on another.
- Available under the GPL for education, evaluation, development and in-house deployment,
and under a commercial license for professional proprietary sale and distribution.
- Can run on a number of single machines for convenience of small applications,
or using an ASP model for the larger and more secure implementations.
- Support for the concept of implicit remote objects, where instances of classes on other machines
in other locations can be run remotely though programatically interface with local objects transparently.
- Uses SQL back ends for scalable data storage, and is designed to interface with that seeminglessly
within the environment. Also the SQL interface is written using EDL objects to facilitate easy inclusions of new engines.
